Academic and Career Development Opportunity for Students with Disabilities:


We want to make you aware of an exciting opportunity available to students with disabilities that will enhance your education and expand future career opportunities. The MIND Alliance for Minority Students with Disabilities in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics is working in cooperation with the City University of New York to increase the quantity and quality of students with disabilities receiving associate and baccalaureate degrees in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) disciplines and entering the STEM workforce or graduate education. This program is open to college freshman, sophomores, juniors and seniors currently enrolled in the City University of New York (CUNY) community and senior colleges.

$$$$ THERE IS NO COST TO YOU--YOU WILL RECEIVE A STIPEND TO PARTICIPATE:


The MIND Alliance at Hunter College is hosting a Summer Institute on Monday, June 14, 2010 through Friday, June 18, 2010 to introduce you to the sciences and related careers without the stress of papers, quizzes or tests. The MIND Alliance Summer Institute is supported by a grant from the National Science Foundation. Public transportation to and from the Hunter College Campus on 68th Street in Manhattan will be reimbursed and lunch will be provided. There is no cost to participate in this program. Each student who attends the five day program will receive $100 upon completion of the MIND Alliance Summer Institute.

Mentoring, Access to a Comprehensive Web Site, Career Assessment and Counseling Are NO COST Components of the Program:


Following the MIND Alliance Summer Institute, each participating student will be offered follow-up supports that may include mentoring, career assessment and counseling, research opportunities, internship programs and the option to attend an Annual Science Conference which will be held in Newark, New Jersey.
